S2.EP7 - Bobby Whitlock and Coco Carmel

Bobby Whitlock is a founding member of the legendary blues-rock band Derek & The Dominos. Their landmark all-time classic release 'Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs' still resonates with audiences and musicians alike, some FORTY years after it's release. Bobby Whitlock's amazing musical journey still continues to this day. His new book, simply titled 'A Rock n' Roll Autobiography', does more than share rock gossip about stars like Keith Moon, George Harrison, and Eric Clapton. It also candidly discusses Whitlock's abusive childhood, drug addiction, and how the star-studded lifestyle evolved into a peaceful partnership with his wife and musical partner CoCo Carmel. We're honored not only to present our conversation with Bobby & CoCo, but to also share several of their songs throughout this episode. Many thanks to Mr. Whitlock for the green light on sharing music from his catalog. Special thanks, as well, to Dan Howard for use of his photo of Bobby & CoCo on the Milk of Minutia homepage. S1.EP21 - Julia Nunes

Our guest and musical feature for this episode is the phenomenal Julia Nunes. Four short years ago, armed with her trusted ukulele, college student and musical prodigy Julia Nunes posted a video for a newly written song (First Impressions) on YouTube. She did this with the intent of showing only a few close friends. Before long, her You Tube channel boasted over 60 songs. Some were originals, some covers of popular radio songs...ALL racking up well-over HALF A MILLION VIEWS! At only 21 years old, Julia is a bona-fide international indie music sensation. With regular gigs at venues in New York, Chicago, Toronto, London, as well as 2 years in a row at the Bonnaroo Music Festival, it won't be long before Julia Nunes becomes a household name. Milk of Minutia is extremely pleased to present this episode, featuring conversation and music from this do-it-yourself future superstar. Julia's website is at www.julianunes.com. Her YouTube channel is at www.youtube.com/user/jaaaaaaa. (original airdate: July 16, 2010)
